Assassin’s Creed Shadows, despite its action-adventure roots, leans into the RPG genre. The game has a huge map with a lot of different regions. And, there are many missions and objectives scattered around, so fast travel is essential.

Traversing such a gigantic landscape can be tiresome at times, and gamers might want to utilize a more convenient way to travel from one place to another. That is why, in this guide, we will tell you how you can use fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. 

How To Use Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest AC title from Ubisoft. It has two protagonists. The RPG takes place in feudal Japan during the rise of Oda Nobunaga. Japan might feel like a small island when you look at a globe, but Ghost of Tsushima had a similar setting, and even though it did not include all Japanese lands, the map was still quite big. 

AC Shadows has a lot of objectives and side content. So naturally, Shadows’ map is even bigger than Ghost of Tsushima’s. There are a total of nine different regions.

In addition to the side objectives, Assassin’s Creed Shadows also has the Viewpoints locations. Think of these locations as local landmarks but with a twist. These are your Fast Travel beacons. To be more specific, in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you cannot fast-travel to just any location you want. Instead, you can only fast travel to the Viewpoints.

Every city or settlement will have at least one Viewpoint in it or close to it. And sometimes, you might even find one in the middle of an enemy-controlled territory.

Players Will Need To Unlock the Viewpoints to Fast Travel in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

When you first start playing the game, all of the Viewpoints will be locked, and you won’t be able to fast travel to them. To unlock the Viewpoints, you must climb them and synchronize with either of the protagonists. Once they are unlocked, they will reveal all of the objectives and points of interest in that specific part of the region.

Now, to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, simply open the game’s map, move your cursor above that Viewpoint, and hold the prompted button to fast-travel to that location.
