Tsuchi-Gumo is a target that Naoe will have to assassinate as part of a mission in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The mission, dubbed The Hunters of Kyonyo, will task the protagonist with tracking down and killing a bunch of bounty hunters. One of those bounty hunters is Tsuchi-Gumo.

In this guide, we’ll explain how you can find the location of Tsuchi-Gumo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and how you can defeat him easily.

While playing as Naoe, you’ll come across a man named Kennyo who’ll ask for your help to save his son, Kyonyo. He will explain that a bunch of bounty hunters are after his son, and he’ll ask you to track down and kill each one of these hunters. Tsuchi-Gumo is the leader of the bounty hunters that you need to slay. As such, you’ll only be able to kill him after you kill the four other members in their group.

At that point in the quest, you’ll need to go and talk to Kyonyo for further information. Kyonyo informs Naoe that his father has been taken prisoner by Tsuchi-Gumo in a bid to draw Kyonyo to them.

After the dialogue, Kyonyo will lead you to Akagi Fort, where Tsuchi-Gumo is. However, once there, you can choose whether you want his help or you want to go in alone.

Tsuchi-Gumo is inside a hut within the Fort at night, which is well guarded both inside and out. We recommend taking out as many enemies as you can using stealth. Then, head inside and sneak up on your target. However, the better approach would be to wait for daytime, as he trains all alone without a bunch of heavily armored guards all around him.

Stealth assassinating him will ignore his armor and take out most of his health segments. Like all other fights, ensure you dodge out of the way of red glowing attacks at the last possible instance. This will allow you an opening to counterattack, raining down a flurry of quick strikes to completely drain his armor bar. Finishing off his remaining health segments shouldn’t be too difficult either if you’ve attempted a stealth assassination on him at the start.

You’ll receive 250 Mon, an engraving, and a legendary long katana called Flowing Peace from taking down the leader of the Hunters of Kyonyo.
