How To Find and Pray at Atago Shrine in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Shrines in Assassin’s Creed Shadows serve as important landmarks scattered throughout the game’s vast open world. These sacred locations provide players with experience, Knowledge Points, buffs, insights into Japanese culture, and opportunities for exploration. The game’s entire map becomes accessible soon after the first few missions but remains soft-locked because of enemy difficulty.

However, Shrines have no such restrictions and can be explored free from difficult enemies. These structures are spread across all the provinces, and locating them regularly as you progress through the main story will ensure that your Mastery Skill Trees unlock higher-ranking abilities.

Situated in the western province of Tamba, the Atago Shrine is one such location that you can explore to experience a picturesque location and progress your Knowledge Rank.

Where Is Atago Shrine in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

The Atago Shrine is located west of Yamashiro in eastern Tamba. It is perched atop a hill north of Kameyama and southeast of the Tamba Highlands. The easiest way to access it is to follow the road leading north out of Kameyama and over the river. After climbing the hill, take the left fork in the road to reach Atago Shrine.

Atago Shrine Location One

In order to receive the rewards of Atago Shrine, you will have to pray at both its shrine locations. To reach the first location, head up the stairs and through the shrine gate. Beyond the row of pillars, you will see the first shrine location with shimenawa suspended in front of it. Approach the shrine and press the interact button (E on PC) to pray. Wait for the prayer animation to play out before heading for the next location.

Atago Shrine Location Two

Head left from the first shrine location and turn right. There will be pilgrims standing and walking along the path. Take the path on the left and head past another wooden building on the right. Behind it, you will find the second and final Atago Shrine location. Walk up the stairs and pray at the shrine. Once the praying animation has ended, the Atago Shrine exploration will be completed.

Once you finish praying at all the Atago Shrine locations, the game rewards you with 500 XP and 1 Knowledge Point, similar to other shrine locations in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
