Kanabo is a unique weapon type in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, resembling heavy maces that you can use to clobber enemies’ skulls in. Due to their size and weight, only Yasuke is capable of wielding this weapon. While there are several legendary Kanabo to find in the game, none is quite as good as the Boulder Fall Kanabo.

In this guide, we’ll explain exactly how you can acquire the Boulder Fall Kanabo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and why it’s such a special weapon to own.

How To Find the Boulder Fall Kanabo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You can get your hands on this legendary weapon as a drop from an assassination target in the Kurai Eikyou side mission. To unlock the side mission, you must first complete the main mission, A Chance Encounter. The recommended level for that main mission is 30, which means you cannot acquire the Boulder Fall Kanabo in the initial parts of the game.

In the Kurai Eikyou side quest, you’ll need to hunt down five targets in heavily guarded areas. One of these is the Katsuragi Agent. To find him, head to the Katsuragi region of Yamato on the game map. However, you’ll only unlock him as a target once you have assassinated the Messenger, the Akiyama Agent, and the Blacksmith Agent, all of whom are tied to the same side mission. Defeat the Katsuragi Agent to finally receive the Boulder Fall Kanabo for Yasuke.

How To Use the Boulder Fall Kanabo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Boulder Fall Kanabo comes with an engraving that prevents enemies from interrupting Yasuke’s attacks with the weapon. So, if you just want to use Yasuke to mow down your opponents, this Kanabo is perfect for that approach. The brutish samurai already deals major damage, but with his attacks becoming uninterruptible, you can finish off foes much quicker. Also, the Kanabo has space for an additional engraving. You can visit the Blacksmith at your hideout to get it engraved, further amplifying its benefits.
