Throughout your time in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll unlock a variety of legendary gear for both Naoe and Yasuke. For Yasuke, some of the most powerful legendary weapons come in the form of different kanabo. One of those is the Daybreak’s Fury, which you can acquire during the middle to late stage of the game.

Since it’s tied to a main mission, there isn’t much chance of missing this drop. Still, this guide is for those trying to find the Daybreak’s Fury Kanabo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’ll also explain what the weapon’s unique engraving does.

How To Find Daybreak’s Fury Kanabo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You will find this legendary kanabo when you bring down one of the Shinbakufu, or the main targets of the game. The target’s alias is The Ox, and you only get to him during the late stages of the game. So, there’s no way to unlock the legendary weapon early on. Like all other main targets, you’ll need to do a series of missions first to identify The Ox and then locate him.

When you are done with all of these precursor missions, you’ll unlock the Broken Horn mission, where you’ll need to report to Nakamura Tadashige. After a brief conversation with him, you’ll choose whether you want to pursue the upcoming assassination as Naoe or Yasuke. Regardless of who you choose, you will need to enter Miki Castle.

Proceed through the mission to finally engage in an open fight with The Ox. You’ll have an easier time taking him down as Yasuke, especially if you have abilities that knock down enemies. After knocking him down, Yasuke can inflict a barrage of strikes to drain away a few of his health segments before he can recover.

After the fight, a cutscene will ensue. You have a few dialogue choices to make, but regardless of what you pick, the cutscene will end with Yasuke killing the target. This will unlock the Daybreak’s Fury Kanabo.

How To Use the Daybreak’s Fury Kanabo in AC Shadows

The legendary kanabo has a unique engraving that spreads shrapnel when you break off an enemy’s armor, dealing 100% damage to all foes around you. This can be highly useful when you’re trying to maximize damage, especially during the late game.

You’ll take on multiple armored opponents at once, and this engraving can mean you have the opportunity to end fights quickly. You can add an armor damage engraving to the kanabo, which will accelerate how quickly you break off an opponent’s armor.
