Here, we’ll discuss how you can find the Vengeful Foe Naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. We’ll also talk about its unique engraving.

Naginatas are long pole-like weapons with a sharp blade on their head that Yasuke can equip in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. These are great weapons that increase the Samurai’s range compared to his long katana. And, there are some legendary naginatas for you to unlock throughout the game as well.
One of these is the Vengeful Foe naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In this guide, we’ll take a look at how you can acquire this particular weapon. We’ll also explain what kind of engraving the weapon has.
How To Unlock the Vengeful Foe Naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You will get the Vengeful Foe naginata as a reward for completing a side quest in the game called “The Tournament.” The quest itself becomes available much later in the game, after you’ve assassinated 9 of the 12 total Shinbakufu. Gyoji in Yamato will offer this side mission that can help you earn considerable XP besides the legendary naginata.
In the Tournament quest, you’ll need to fight the best warriors in on-on-one matches to the death. However, you can take breaks in between every match to pursue other activities or simply to change your gear. Make sure your Yasuke is prepared to face off against each opponent because the fights can be highly challenging.
The following are the opponents you’ll fight:
- Lord Suguru armed with a katana
- Lady Masago armed with a naginata
- Lady O-Sen armed with two poisoned katana
- Lord Hokuto armed with a kanabo
- Lord Unkai armed with a naginata
After you’ve bested all of them, the quest will end, and you’ll get the Vengeful Foe weapon in your inventory.

How To Use the Vengeful Foe Naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Vengeful Foe naginata is great for both defense and offence. Its engraving provides +35% bleed buildup every time you successfully parry an enemy’s attack. With a high bleed buildup, you can then strike foes and cause them to lose health over time through the bleed status effect. This means, you can effectively end fights quickly with the weapon. Also, you can engrave another perk into the legendary item, making it even more valuable in the process.
