Does Assassin’s Creed Shadows feature a multiplayer and a co-op mode? Let’s take a look at all of the options.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an RPG set in Feudal Japan. It is widely known that the game features two protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. The former is a Shinobi, while the latter is a real historical figure and a Samurai. Because of that, many might wonder if Ubisoft is going to add a multiplayer or a co-op mode so players can assassinate some tyrant leaders and enjoy the game with their friends. Well, in this article, we will take a look at the possibility of such a mode and discuss it in detail.
Is There a Multiplayer or Co-Op Mode in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Let’s start with the multiplayer mode first. No, there won’t be any Assassin’s Creed Shadows multiplayer mode on release. However, Ubisoft does have plans for a co-op mode named The League. Many reports have suggested that the developers will release this mode sometime after the official launch of the game, but we still do not have a confirmed date.
Two players will be able to team up and take control of Naoe and Yasuke in The League, and they will be tasked with assassinating various targets and completing different objectives. Ubisoft hasn’t disclosed much information regarding the co-op mode, so it could turn out to be objective-driven or a survival mode in which you have to deal with waves of enemies. We must admit that the former is more appealing and probable than the latter.
How Do Naoe and Yasuke Fit Into the Co-Op Mode in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

So now, let’s talk about the two playable characters. Naoe is a Shinobi, and from what we saw in the trailers, it seems like both she and her father will be part of the Assassin Brotherhood. Yasuke, on the other hand, is a real historical figure, as we discussed earlier. He is a man from Africa who was brought to Japan to serve Lord Oda Nobunaga at the end of the Sengoku Period. However, the developers did say that they have taken liberties to incorporate him into the game’s fictional story.
Both characters were designed to offer two distinct approaches to the player. Naoe is the Shinobi. She is more stealth-oriented, quick on her feet, has a hidden blade, can do parkour, and is a master of assassination. However, she is quite weak in combat compared to her counterpart and can die quite easily.
Yasuke is the Samurai and the complete opposite of Naoe. He was built for the battlefield. He is quite effective in direct combat, has a lot more health, and can equip heavy weapons and armor. But unlike the Shinobi, Yasuke is not the best when it comes to climbing walls or sneaking into places. Players who like to confront their enemies will find Yasuke more suitable to their taste.
There Is a Veil of Uncertainty Around Assassin’s Creed Shadows PvP

So players who like different playstyles will be able to play together in the planned co-op mode of AC Shadows. The two protagonists are perfect for The League. And even though the developers have not announced plans for PvP, we cannot rule out the possibility of fans seeing an Assassin’s Creed Shadows multiplayer mode in the future.
