The Assassin’s Creed franchise has players assassinating various different historical figures and other original characters. However, only a handful of them really stuck with players throughout the years, simply due to how memorable and brilliant the execution was. So, we will list the 5 best assassinations in Assassin’s Creed as a whole based on how impactful they were for the story.

1. Charles Dorian

In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Shay Patrick Cormac is tasked with killing Charles Dorian, an Assassin in Paris. So, Shay makes his way through the Palace of Versailles and gets the job done. While players had no attachment to Charles, the brilliant part is the fact that he is the father of Arno Dorian, the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Unity.

So, this assassination in Rogue shows the events of Unity’s prologue from another perspective.

2. Charles Lee

Connor’s main motivation is to assassinate Charles Lee in Assassin’s Creed 3 to supposedly avenge his village and mother. So, we spend the latter half of the game in pursuit of this goal. After the final face-off against Charles Lee, his send-off was executed brilliantly. Both he and Connor are injured, so they talk and drink a bottle of alcohol. After learning the truth of the events from Charles Lee, Connor puts him out of misery.

3. Haytham Kenway

Haytham Kenway’s character and assassination are another highlight of Assassin’s Creed 3. As he is a Templar and Connor’s father, they both clash on the basis of their opposing ideals. Another part of their dispute was over Charles Lee. Connor wanted him dead, while Haytham believed he could save the world. Ultimately, Connor prevailed and ended his father’s life, in a rather bittersweet outcome as Haytham praised his son while dying.

4. Adewale

Adewale was Edward Kenway’s right-hand man in Assassin’s Creed 4. He stuck by him and helped him sail the seven seas and eventually became a righteous member of the Assassin Brotherhood. In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Shay encounters Adewale, and the two face off. Unfortunately, Adewale is killed in this fight as Shay emerges victorious. This assassination hits hard as we grow attached to Adewale in Assassin’s Creed 4 and Freedom Cry.

5. Al Mualim

Al Mualim was Altair’s mentor for the entirety of Assassin’s Creed 1. He guided Altair on his missions and punished him whenever he strayed from the path. However, it was all a facade, as Al Mualim was secretly a Templar who was manipulating the Brotherhood for the Eden artifact. So, Altair faces off against him and eventually kills him.

This assassination is significant as Al Mualim was the first ever major Templar villain we killed in the franchise.
