With the Shining Revelry Booster Pack, there have been new Ex cards you can use to attain success in Pokemon TCG Pocket for April 2025.

Ex cards are a core part of many decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Due to their rarity and generally powerful abilities and moves, decks often revolve around them.
The recent Shining Revelry Booster Pack changed up the meta in a big way. Earlier, Arceus and Dialga reigned supreme, however, now they’ve pushed further down the list. Here are five of the best Ex cards for Pokemon TCG Pocket for April 2025.
5. Gallade Ex Is Slow To Start But Hard To Stop in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Gallade does mediocre damage if the opponent does not have any energy attached. However, if you time it right, Gallade can become a nightmare for your opponent’s established board.
Energized Blade does 20 more damage for each energy they have attached on their Pokemon. This can become a nightmare for many Pokemon who need to stock up on three-four energy to perform their moves.
Gyarados Ex Rages on the Battlefield

Although Magikarp might be quite useless, its evolution is anything but. Having a massive health pool of 180, and dealing 140 damage which is enough to knock out most Pokemon makes Gyarados a nightmare on the battlefield.
On top of this, Rampaging Whirlpool also causes an energy deficit to your enemies. Its high energy cost is offset by cards like Misty and Manaphy, which can funnel energy into it.
3. Arceus Ex Remains Strong in Pokemon TCG Pocket

The Creator Pokemon was added in the Triumphant Light expansion, and was reigning at the top for quite some time. The emergence of Giratina has pushed this Pokemon to the third spot.
Arceus is a very consistent Pokemon, which can deal high damage, with just 3 colorless energy. This makes this card extremely viable and flexible at the same time. Lastly, there are many other Pokemon with Link abilities with Arceus, which increases their efficacy in battle, as long as Arceus is on the field.
2. Giratina Ex Overshadows the Competition

Since its release, Giratina quickly skyrocketed to the top of the meta decks. This was for good reason, since its ability, health and damage all mesh together perfectly. Give Giratina 2-3 turns to set up, and you’re most likely sweeping the match.
His move, Chaotic Impact, requires four Psychic energy and deals 130 damage. This, combined with its Ability to add one Psychic energy on itself every turn, makes it extremely powerful.
1. Darkrai Ex Is Climbing the Charts Of Pokemon TCG Pocket

Although Darkrai doesn’t do a lot of damage by itself, its main strength comes from whittling away the enemy by dealing passive damage. Darkrai can deal damage even if it’s not the active Pokemon, which makes it extremely good for drawn-out matches.
Moreover, Darkrai has a deck built with Giratina Ex (which is the best meta deck at the moment), and other decks with Magnezone or Weavile. So, Darkrai is one of the most useful cards to have in the current state of meta.
This list of the best Ex cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket will probably change once the next expansion set comes around.
