Discover the 5 best PlayStation exclusives of all time and what makes them so iconic and loved with our list.

PlayStation is widely regarded to have the best console exclusives across all platforms. In fact, many players claim that PlayStation always wins the console wars because of all the unique exclusives it provides, as compared to other consoles.
While there have been many exclusives throughout the five gaming generations that PlayStation has covered, we will be mentioning the five best exclusives of all time that left their mark on gaming.
Note: This article solely reflects the author’s opinion. The choices are subjective.
1. ICO

ICO is easily one of the most influential games of all time, as it inspired many game developers across the globe. In an interview, Hidetaka Miyazaki said that the only reason he took up game development was because he played ICO. In addition, he said that it opened his eyes to what was possible in the medium. ICO is a very simple game, mainly involving some basic combat, exploration, and solving puzzles.
However, it makes great use of its simplicity by adding to the game’s overall aesthetic and vibe. In fact, it can be said that ICO’s beautiful story of struggle and companionship would not work without the simple mechanics.
2. God of War 3

In my opinion, God of War 3 is easily Santa Monica’s best game yet, surpassing the Norse saga. In this game, the combat system is much more complex, as the jump button allows for some phenomenal combos. Additionally, the boss fights are very cinematic and epic, keeping the player on the edge of their seats with epic QTEs.
While some players say that the Greek saga games did not have a good story, I believe otherwise. In my opinion, the Greek saga is a great tale about a man who loses everything and walks the destructive path of vengeance.
3. Bloodborne

Bloodborne, Hidetaka Miyazaki’s second Souls exclusive, was released on the PlayStation 4. It was the game that made many players buy the PlayStation 4 just to be able to play it. It is a Souls game, except it’s faster, much more aggressive, darker, and offers a fresh new aesthetic in the form of Victorian-era London.
Bloodborne also offers the most diverse weapons in all of Miyazaki’s games, as each weapon has a unique moveset that sets it apart from others. Furthermore, the game’s lore is easily Hidetaka Miyazaki’s best work yet, due to how gritty the story is and how fascinating the Old Ones are. It is easy to see that Hidetaka Miyazaki was inspired by HP Lovecraft in Bloodborne’s setting.
4. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Naughty Dog’s magnum opus, Uncharted 4, is easily one of the most fun games you can play. It is one of the most beautiful games on the PlayStation 4, pushing the console to its absolute limit. Additionally, the exploration, set pieces, locations, and characters in Uncharted 4 enhance the experience in every way, keeping the player hooked until the end. The pacing of the story is also great, with many twists and turns, especially towards the end.
Uncharted 4 is the finale of Nathan Drake’s story, and Naughty Dog definitely ended his story with a bang.
5. Shadow of The Colossus

After ICO, Fumito Ueda released Shadow of the Colossus, which might be considered to be his best work. It features a completely desolate open world, and players are given one objective. Slay 16 Colossi, and the main character’s lover will be revived, and that is the entire game right there. However, there is a certain beauty in the isolated world of this game that no other game can match.
Additionally, the Colossi are well designed and work as giant walking puzzles, offering a unique gameplay experience.
