The Thing is a Vanguard introduced in Marvel Rivals’ latest season, and he can deliver the best with the right team.
With the release of Season 1.5, Marvel Rivals introduced a new Vanguard, The Thing. Ben Grimm was exposed to cosmic radiation that transformed him into a rock-like human. This hero punches hard and charges harder. Many players want to form a team around him, and we are going to do just that.
This article lists five such heroes that can deliver the best upon teaming up with The Thing in Marvel Rivals.
1) Doctor Strange
The Sorcerer Supreme is here to assist the brawler of Marvel Rivals. Doctor Strange is one of the best Vanguards in the game with great defending capabilities. His Maelstrom of Madness delivers devastating damage to opponents. Moreover, the Eye of Agamotto is one of the most powerful ultimates in the game that completely stuns the whole crowd.
The Thing can clear the path ahead while Doctor Strange can defend the backline and objective area. Both Vanguards complement each other with good damage output and defending abilities.
2) Human Torch
Human Torch can light up the arena with cosmic fire, and The Thing can rupture land to finish off all opponents. The Fantastic Four duo can cause havoc when paired together and played correctly. Human Torch can help The Thing in pushing enemies back with various abilities. Moreover, his ultimate Supernova can melt enemies within seconds. This hero might not go hand-in-hand with The Thing, but the damage output is massive.

3) Spider-Man

However, if the enemy team does not have this hero, players can swing to their backline and web support with the help of Spider-Man. Spidey can help The Thing in many ways, but most importantly, he can eliminate healers so the Vanguard can kill opponents’ tanks and duelists. Spider-Man is the most mobile hero in Marvel Rivals and with the ability to rollout in mere seconds, he can return to battle faster than enemies blink.
4) Cloak & Dagger
The healer duo makes their appearance as the support for The Thing. Cloak & Dagger can provide healing and damage assist from the backline. Dagger’s healing is exceptionally good, while Cloak can guard allies and auto-attack the enemies. Moreover, the ultimate Eternal Bond can provide consistent healing and area denial. This single ability can help the team in creating space in the difficult area of a map.
5) Invisible Woman
Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, is here to assist Human Torch and The Thing with the help of the team-up ability. Invisible Woman activates the team-up ability that heals all members of the Fantastic Four and provides bonus health. Additionally, she can heal and displace enemies. We recommend running her with at least one member of the Fantastic Four to get good results.
