Felix “xQc” Lengyel is a former professional esports player who became one of the most followed streamers on Twitch. xQc has 2.36 million subscribers on YouTube and over 12 million followers on Twitch.

The streamer has run into several controversial moments throughout his esports and streaming career. From homophobic remarks to feuding with other content creators, Felix has made controversial headlines several times. Here is a look at some of his biggest controversies.

xQc’s Suspension in Overwatch Over “Homophobic Remark”

xQc, who used to play for the Overwatch team Dallas Fuel, was suspended because of a homophobic remark. Blizzard officials investigated xQc’s controversial comments against Austin “Muma” Wilmot and found him guilty. He was fined $2,000 and suspended for four matches in the Overwatch League.

Dallas Fuel supported the move and offered additional resources and training to support xQc during the ban. He was then dropped by the team two months after his ban.

Controversy With Hasan Piker

xQc announced in June 2023 that he signed a streaming deal with Kick. Hasan Piker commented on the move and said that xQc’s new streaming deal was a pathway to gambling. xQc reacted to Hasan’s comments and said:

“Hasan is being disingenuous as f**k. I am disappointed. I get it, protect Queen Poki at all costs. It means that she gets to say whatever she wants and claim dogsh*t. And she is given a free pass because she’s Queen Poki? I get it.”

Online Feud Between xQc and Kai Cenat

Kai Cenat and xQc got into an online feud in December 2024 due to comments made by the latter. Felix said that Adin Ross started the wave of celebrity appearances on streams, and Kai copied the formula for success.

The remark led to a back-and-forth exchange between both content creators. Felix attempted to squash the feud by stating that it is just “Fortnite-level trash talk” and it is not worth throwing friendships away.

YouTube Account Termination in 2023

Felix’s YouTube account was terminated in 2023. It had over 2.3 million subscribers at the time over copyright claims. Later, during a livestream on Twitch, he revealed that third parties filed copyright infringement claims on his account.

YouTube reinstated his account two days after the ban. He reacted to the situation saying:

“Tom Scott made a video. In the video, he shows a video. That video is an excerpt taken from another video. And, I reacted to Tom Scott’s version of it. Okay? Somebody that is not part of any of those realms. So, a random claimed to be one of these people and said, ‘Yo, this is my video. Blah, blah, blah. This is a strike.’”

Feud with FaZe Clan Over “Fake Content”

On December 2024, xQc called out FaZe Clan members and said that they make “fake content.” Moreover, he criticized the amount of ads on FaZe Clan channels and compared it to mainstream TV. The streamer said:

“You guys have so much fake content… you guys run fake footage… I click Ron’s stream to see what’s up and I get hit with three minutes of ads, this needs to f**king stop.”

In addition, he said that there are time skips in some of the FaZe content. He pointed out that one of the streamers was in a car, before immediately jumping into an indoor setting—implying that the content is potentially faked or pre-recorded.

Felix is not the only streamer to accuse FaZe of disingenuity. Additionally, Adin Ross had claimed that some unnamed FaZe members attempted to secure Kick deals with fake analytics and earnings reports. On top of that, Paul “IcePoseidon” had also made claims that FaZe Clan members view bot streams to inflate viewership numbers.
