In this guide, we shall go over where to find Chromite in Palworld and how to use it to craft high-level resources in the game.
Palworld’s latest Feybreak update has brought in a plethora of content, including the brand-new Chromite resource. The Chromite resource is highly evasive in nature and can be a pain to find as it is burrowed underground. To make matters worse, this rare resource is essential in crafting various high-quality equipment and technologies, so if you’re looking to craft any of those, you may find yourself having a hard time. In this guide, we shall go over where to find Chromite in Palworld and how to use it to craft high-level resources in the game.
Where To Find Chromite
Chromite is the brand new resource making its debut in Palworld as part of its latest update. The resource is difficult to find if you don’t know how to look for it. Chromite is a metal, and hence, you have to use a metal detector to locate it.
You unlock the metal detector at Level 56 from the Technology screen. You can then produce the metal detector by spending 30x Plasteel, 100x Paldium Fragment, 30x Circuit Board, and 20x Nightstar Sand.
Once you have the metal detector unlocked and produced, head to the new Feybreak Islands and begin your search with the device equipped. The metal detector sends out waves 360 degrees around you in search of metals. The device also emits a pinging sound, signalling how close or far you are from Chromite. As you get closer to Chromite, the detector will pick up pace, the waves will spread faster, and the pinging will speed up. The metal detector’s audio and visual cues will lead you in the right direction.
Alternatively, you can get Chromite from the Arrogant Pal Critic NPC as a last-ditch resort. The NPC gives you Chromite and other items in exchange for Pals. We wouldn’t recommend trading with the NPC, as Chromite is found much more efficiently through the method mentioned above.
How To Use Chromite
Chromite, like other crafting resources, is used for crafting technologies. Open up the in-game menu and head to the Technology tab to see the list of items that require Chromite as an ingredient. Chromite is used as an ingredient for crafting Hexolite, which in turn is used for crafting other items. You require 5x Chromite for each individual piece of Hexolite.
