MontanaBlack88, whose real name is Marcel Eris, is a German-speaking live streamer and content creator. He recently went viral for gaining over 257,000 concurrent live viewers. Marcel was born on March 2, 1988, in Buxtehude. He is 36 years old as of this writing. Eris is considered one of the best live streamers in the German-speaking industry. Marcel currently has 5.5M followers on Twitch, 1.5M followers on X, and over 5.8M subscribers across two channels on YouTube.
Montana’s recent XXL Christmas Show live stream was a massive success, as he broke over 250K concurrent live viewers. In addition to his streaming success, MontanaBlack88 recently launched his own energy drink called Gonrgy. He has also launched two books documenting his life. In his early days, Marcel became addicted to drugs. He got involved in criminal activities to earn money to buy drugs and alcohol. He eventually turned his life around and started his YouTube channel. This turned out to be a successful decision as he began to gain traction quickly in the space.
Marcel started his own merchandise brand called GetOnMyLvl, offering apparel and accessories. The merchandise brand eventually transitioned into a fashion label due to the large number of sales. Marcel currently streams gameplay and IRL content on his Twitch channel and has an average viewership of around 50,000-60,000 viewers.
In September 2019, MontanaBlack88 became the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch, surpassing other notable streamers like Shroud and Tfue. Twitch briefly banned him after he made remarks about women while streaming on the street.

After becoming the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch for a brief period, Marcel’s popularity skyrocketed. He posted his statistics on X in a post captioned:

Marcel currently boasts a following of 5.5M on Twitch and over 224M hours in watch time.
Germany passed a streaming law in 2021 that forced anyone with an average viewership of 20,000 viewers to obtain a broadcasting license. This rule affected Eris, as the requirements stated that games rated 16+ could only be played after 10 PM, while games rated 18+ were restricted until after 11 PM. The rule also requires streamers to appoint a Youth Protection Officer. Montana vocally disagreed with the law and stated that he would be moving out of Germany to live in Malta.
