It looks like Ultron is finally coming to Marvel Rivals! He will be joining the already expansive 33-character roster that the game launched with. As promised, all the characters were free, and we expect that Tony Stark’s scariest creation will also be free-to-play.

There have been rumors and leaks flying around about Ultron joining the roster ever since the game launched. We can’t say anything for sure until he is finally here. However, as far as leaks go, we have a game model and his Ability Kit as well.

It appears that Ultron will be a Strategist in the game! None of the leaks can ‘confirm’ this, but that’s what his kit is telling us. I think it’s a great idea because the game lacks Strategists and Vanguards. And if he is a “flying” strategist, even better!

All You Must Know About the Ultron Leaks

The sentient robot is a menace to humanity in almost all timelines. And to be honest, he is not all that different in Marvel Rivals either. But much like what NetEase did with Loki, they also decided that Ultron should be a strategist. Because after all, a Strategist is not a designated ‘healer.’ Ultron has the following Abilities as per the leaks:

  • Encephalo-Ray (Basic Attack)
  • Rage of Ultron (Ultimate)
  • Dynamic Flight (Traversal)
  • Imperative: Patch
  • Imperative: Firewall
  • Algorithm Correction (Passive)
  • Team-up Ability (no leaked information as of yet)

The Abilities that NetEase is introducing for these new ‘leaked’ characters are pretty complex. The same can be said about the leaked Ability Kit for the Human Torch. Since these are a bit complex, let’s break them down and take a simpler look at them to understand what kind of role Ultron would play on the battlefield.

The basic attack, Encephalo-Ray, lets out an energy beam to damage nearby enemies. Since this is the only basic Ability that Ultron has, it might also heal allies. Kind of like Loki’s Mystical Missile.

He can also actively heal his allies with the ability Imperative: Patch. It lets Ultron command a giant drone to follow an ally while healing the allies constantly in that radius. The designated ally whom the drone is following gets additional healing. Imperative: Firewall is somewhat connected to it. It summons several drones centered on Ultron while granting bonus HP to nearby allies and the teammate marked with Imperative: Patch.

He has two traversal abilities. One is Dynamic Flight, which lets him dash in the direction of the movement and then enter free-flight mode. The other is the passive Algorithm Correction to let you fall slowly.

His Ultimate Ability, Rage of Ultron (great wordplay), summons Ultron Drones to fire Encephalo-Rays to either damage enemies or heal allies.

He doesn’t have a leaked Team-up ability as of now, but I have a feeling that it might somehow involve Iron Man.
