Palworld, the survival crafting game by Pocket Pair, offers various challenges for players, including Alpha Pals, Bounty, Tower Bosses, and Raid Bosses. Completing these challenges is definitely worth it, as they yield hefty rewards. However, Raid Bosses work differently from the others, as these bosses are not found in the overworld.

Instead, you need to summon the Raid Bosses on your base with the Summoning Altar. However, it is not as easy as it seems. Follow along to get a clearer picture of the Summoning Altar and how to build it in Palworld.

What Is Summoning Altar in Palworld?

The Summoning Altar is a mysterious structure in Palworld, capable of summoning powerful Pals. You need a Slab of a specific Pal to summon the Raid Boss. Defeating the Raid Boss provides invaluable rewards such as the huge dark egg, which hatches into the Raid Boss Pal itself.

However, a Summoning Altar can only be used once—it will be destroyed upon successful summoning, regardless of whether you succeed or fail the Raid.

How To Build Summoning Altar in Palworld

First, you need to unlock the blueprint scheme of the Summoning Altar in the Technology section. Once you reach level 33, you can unlock the structure with 3 Ancient Technology points in the Ancient Technology tier. Upon unlocking, you can build a Summoning Altar with the following items:

  • 100 Stones: Acquired all over the island. Crafting a Stone Pit on your base produces Stones.
  • 20 Paldium Fragments: Acquired while mining Stones. Look for Paldium Fragment clusters near water bodies to increase farming efficiency.

Once you have the required materials, head over to the Build menu and Others section to build the Summoning Altar. It is recommended to have a separate base to build the Summoning Altar, as summoning a Raid Boss may cause complete mayhem for your base and your Pals. Consider building the Summoning Altar in an open flat area, which creates a way for you and your Pals to seamlessly attack the Raid Boss.

How To Use Summoning Altar in Palworld

Upon building a Summoning Altar in your base, you need Pal Slabs to summon the Raid Bosses. There are various Pal Slabs such as the Bellanoir Slab and Blazamut Ryu Slab. Collect 4 Slab Fragments of a particular Pal to craft the Pal Slab. For instance, you need 4 Bellanoir Slab Fragments to make a Bellanoir Slab.

Opening the chests in dungeons and open worlds rewards these Slab Fragments. Use a Workbench or Production Assembly Line to craft a Pal Slab from the Slab Fragments (4). Then, place the Slab in the Summoning Altar to call powerful Pals to your home for a tough challenge.
