Old Coins are collectible items in Dynasty Warriors Origins, and here is how you can get and use them in the game.
Dynasty Warriors Origins lets you collect items as you scour the map of ancient China. While traversing the isometric 3D map in the overworld, you will come across items called Old Coins. These will mostly be hidden in plain sight. You can find them in the bushes in one of the far corners. Although you can start collecting the coins from the very beginning, you will not be able to use them till you have progressed into the later parts of the game.
Old Coins are very effective and will give you an edge in battle. As such, you should collect them right from the very beginning. In fact, it should be a priority for you to collect Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins any time you step into the world.

How To Get Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins
There are four primary ways to get Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins:

Map Exploration
Map exploration is the easiest way to get Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins. You can find these hidden near rocks or short trees, often in odd crevices of the map. These will also emanate a light glow, so keep an eye out for this visual cue.
Completing Requests
You will unlock the Requests feature once you reach Chapter 2 in Dynasty Warriors Origins. With this, you will be able to take on additional side quests, and some of these have Old Coins as their rewards. Note that not all requests will give you Old Coins, but they aren’t rare drops either.
Raising Peace Level in an Area
There are several regions in Dynasty Warriors Origins, and you can gradually raise the Peace Level of an area by completing tasks. As you raise the level, you will be able to claim rewards from the Waymark of that particular region. These Waymark rewards in Dynasty Warriors Origins will also contain Old Coins.
Receiving Letters
At times, you will receive letters and gifts from your admirers for your heroic feats in a battle. You will be able to view and collect these from any of the inns in the game. In some cases, these letters will also contain Old Coins that you can collect. However, this is generally a rare drop and you will not find this very often.
How to Use Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins
As mentioned before, you will not be able to use Old Coins in Dynasty Warriors Origins till you have reached Chapter 2. You will end up meeting Sima Hui and unlocking the Shui Jing Retreat as you keep following the main campaign story. You will find this retreat near the Ji Town in You Province.
