After a five-year hiatus, Valkyrae made a historic comeback to Twitch, swiftly becoming the most-watched female streamer on the platform.
One week after her successful comeback, Rachel Hofstetter, also known as Valkyrae, recaptured her place on Twitch and shot to the top of the charts. At the end of 2024, Valkyrae announced her return to Twitch after five years of exclusively streaming on YouTube. She had her formal Twitch debut on January 8, 2025, and she quickly became well-known. She became the most-watched female streamer on Twitch in a matter of days.
According to Streams Charts, Valkyrae garnered a staggering 706,000 hours of watch time in her first week, greatly beating huge streamers like record-breaking VTuber, IronMouse. Despite heavy competition from creators like Emiru and ExtraEmily, Valkyrae demonstrated that her reappearance was more than just hype: it was a message.
She managed to take the number 1 spot despite just streaming 47 hours and 30 minutes in her first week. That’s far less than some of her top ten competitors, like IronMouse in second place, who broadcasted for an additional 12 hours.

In response to the announcement, Valkyrae said that this was her warmest welcome on Twitch. Her response, which teased another stream for the same day, indicated that the streamer was not slowing down anytime soon.

Who is Valkyrae?
Rachell Marie Hofstetter, popularly known by her online nickname Valkyrae, is a Filipino-American YouTuber. She is a content creator and co-owner of 100 Thieves, as well as a long-time member of Offline TV and Friends. Valkyrae is known for her vibrant and cheerful behavior, which has earned her a wide fanbase and numerous awards. Aside from streaming, she has arranged charity events and appeared in music videos and animated shows.
Valkyrae had worked at Gamestop and as a bank clerk before becoming a streamer. She previously streamed on Twitch before accepting a two-year contract with YouTube in January 2020. Additionally, she announced in January 2022 that her contract with YouTube would be extended for another year. In December 2024, she announced that she would make a comeback on Twitch for streaming. She currently has a total of 1.3 million followers on her Twitch channel.
