Final Fantasy XIV Patch Notes 7.16 brings in new quests, achievements, and trophies, along with adjustments to PvP actions.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch Notes 7.16 adds new role quests, new chapters for NG+, a new Housing orchestrion roll, and plenty of PvP changes. There’s plenty to unpack here with the changes requiring players to have purchased certain expansion packs.

The full patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV Patch Notes 7.16:

Quests

Picking Up the Torch

• Tuliyollal (X:12.3 Y:14.6)
• Rral Majun
• Players must first complete the main scenario quest “Dawntrail,” tank role quest “Dreams of a New Day,” healer role quest “An Antidote for Anarchy,” melee DPS role quest “A Hunter True,” physical ranged DPS role quest “The Mightiest Shield,” and magical ranged DPS role quest “Heroes and Pretenders.”

There are three further quests that are unlocked one after the other.

NG+ new chapters

The final quest of each chapter must be completed before they can be unlocked.

• A new orchestrion roll has been added.

• A new emote has been added.

Battle System

By speaking with Uah’shepya in Solution Nine (X:8.7 Y:13.5), players can exchange the following items obtained from Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic):

PvP

The following adjustments have been made to PvP actions:

Dark Knight

Action	Adjustment
Eventide	Potency has been increased from 8,000-16,000 to 10,000-20,000.

Ninja

Action	Adjustment
Doton	Reduction to damage taken has been reduced from 25% to 20%.

Viper

Action	Adjustment
First Generation	Potency has been increased from 6,000 to 8,000.
Second Generation	Potency has been increased from 6,000 to 8,000.
Third Generation	Potency has been increased from 6,000 to 8,000.
Fourth Generation	Potency has been increased from 6,000 to 8,000.

Machinist

Action	Adjustment
Full Metal Field	Potency has been increased from 8,000 to 10,000. Recast time has been reduced from 32 to 30 seconds.

Black Mage

Action	Adjustment
Burst	Potency has been increased from 12,000 to 15,000. Barrier strength has been increased from a heal potency of 12,000 to 15,000.

Summoner

Action	Adjustment
Mountain Buster	Potency has been increased from 10,000 to 12,000.
Slipstream	Additional effect that increases movement speed by 25% on allies now also applies to self.

White Mage

Action	Adjustment
Glare III	The text “Action changes to Glare IV when under the effect of Sacred Sight” has been added.
Seraph Strike	The text “Action changes to Glare IV upon execution” has been removed.
Afflatus Purgation	Healing over time potency of Temperance has been reduced from 6,000 to 4,000.
Glare IV	Potency has been increased from 8,000 to 9,000.

Scholar

Action	Adjustment
Summon Seraph	Recovery via healing actions granted by the effect Seraphic Illumination has been reduced from 20% to 10%.

Astrologian

Action	Adjustment
Microcosmos	HP recovered at the time of execution has been reduced from a cure of 5,000 potency plus 25% of compiled damage to a cure of 4,000 potency plus 20% of compiled damage.

The time between action execution and effect activation has been shortened for the following PvP actions:

Resolved Issues

• The following issues have been addressed:
  • An issue in Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) wherein the actions “Lateral-core Phaser” and “Core-lateral Phaser” were oppositely labeled.
  • An issue with first-time completion duties wherein the following message was erroneously displayed if players new to the duty were present:
    “One or more party members are new to this duty. Upon completion, a bonus may be awarded based on the number of new party members.”
  • An issue with the dragoon PvP action Wyrmwind Thrust wherein using High Jump directly after would cause the potency of Wyrmwind Thrust to decrease.
  • An issue wherein the graphics for the ex-arch’s jacket appeared incorrectly when equipped to certain races.

  • An issue with certain gamepads wherein FPS would decrease upon connection. (Mac version only)
  • Some minor text issues have been addressed.
