One of the main story missions in Dynasty Warriors Origins is the Battle of Yingchuan. Players will have to complete this in order to progress through the game’s storyline. In this mission, the protagonist, also known as the Wanderer, will join forces with Wei’s companions as they fight against The Yellow Turbans.
Just like other battles in the game, if your allies lose too much morale, they will retreat, and you will fail the mission. This is why it is important to keep your allies in check and help them when needed.

How to Complete Battle of Yingchuan in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Win and Defeat Conditions
Before you start the mission, take note of the win conditions and what you need to avoid to not lose the fight:
- You win the battle by defeating Zhang Bao.
- The battle is lost when your allies Huangfu Song, Zhu Jun, or Cao Cao lose too much morale and are forced to flee.
Throughout the battle, you need to keep the morale of your allies high by helping them fight waves of enemies. If your team loses too much morale, your chances of winning a fight get lower and your allies might flee from battle. By doing combo attacks or timing your dodges right, you can keep your allies motivated and intimidate your enemies.
Battle of Yingchuan Walkthrough
You must unlock the Expeditionary Forces Camp by progressing through the story first before you can start the Battle of Yingchuan. Once you reach the area, a cutscene will show up before you can start the mission.
1. Fight through waves of Yellow Turbans
You will start the mission by fighting Yellow Turbans. While fighting, you will be notified through the story that the enemy is using sorcery to gain the upper hand. The next sequence will serve as a tutorial for using the Eyes of the Sacred Bird.
2. Use the Eyes of the Sacred Bird
You need to use the Eyes of the Sacred Bird to locate the source of dark magic on the map. Following the instructions will lead you to a giant censer that you must destroy.
3. Destroy the Censer
Once you locate the first censer of the story, you need to get rid of it. To do this, simply get closer to the objective and there will be an option to “Smash” the censer. Destroying it will reveal an officer named Zhao Hong. You need to defeat this officer to proceed to the next mission.
4. Locate the Second Censer
After defeating the officer, you must locate the second censer. Use the Eyes of the Sacred Bird which will lead you to your next objective. There will be hurricanes spawning in the area that you must avoid. Once you locate the censer, destroy it.
5. Find the Third Censer
The third censer is just north of the second censer. Destroying this will stop all hurricanes from appearing. This will also allow your allies to advance further and start fighting the Yellow Turbans again.
6. Defeat Zhang Bao
Stick close to your allies while fighting Zhang Bao so they can also assist you. Don’t forget to take advantage of your special moves like the War God Rage which allows you to use True Musou Attacks. This temporary buff can also make you invincible so you can keep doing your combos without having to worry about dodging attacks.
Battle Rewards for Battle of Yingchuan
Completing the mission will reward you with Skill points that you can use to upgrade your abilities in the game. Aside from that, fighting during this mission should give you even more skill points for every 100 soldiers you defeat. Furthermore, the loot you pick up from the battle can also be equipped, sold, or reforged to craft a more powerful weapon.
