Don’t skip this free Star Lord skin in Marvel Rivals as part of the new Spring Festival update in the game.
Star Lord has a free skin in Season 1 that Marvel Rivals fans can claim right now! There is a bit of a catch though. You see, the new skin, Lion’s Mane, was introduced to the game as part of the new Spring Festival. This is a limited-time event, much like the Winter Celebration that swung by around Christmas time.
There is a lot of fresh content that NetEase games uploaded alongside this event, including cosmetics and limited-time game modes. One of the cosmetics is the free Star Lord skin that we just discussed. The catch is that it is intertwined with the newly introduced: Spring Fest gallery card and the new game mode Clash of Dancing Lions.
How To Earn the Free Star Lord Skin
During the Winter Celebration, players had to play through the Jeff splash game mode to earn Gold Snow Flakes and use it to customize the holiday card on the Home Screen. Something similar is happening for this festive event as well.
To earn your free Star Lord skin, note the following steps:
- Pay attention to the left side of your screen after logging in to the game. There will be a Spring Fest card on the left side when you are on your Home Screen. This is right below the auto-scrolling notice board window.
- Click on the Spring Fest card and your Fortune & Colors gallery card will open up (shown in the image above). You will need to color the painting there. Each player will start off with 25 Danqing. You need a total of 100 Danqing to start painting.
- Earn Danqing by playing the new time-limited mode called Clash of Dancing Lions. Playing it won’t do it for you. Instead, check the Event Missions first on the left side (refer to the image above).
- These challenges will keep on updating and will earn you all the Danqing you need. Keep progressing the bar below with your painting and you will eventually earn the Lion’s Mane Star Lord costume for free.

All the Prizes in the New Spring Fest
You can earn the following items through your progression in the event as you fill the Fortune & Colors Gallery Card to your heart’s content:
- Drum and Roar Nameplate
- Snake’s Luck Spray
- 200 Chrono Tokens
- Lion’s Mane Nameplate
- Lion’s Mane Spray
- Lione’s Mane Star Lord Costume
- “Of Festivals and Friends” Gallery Card
All of these will be given to you right away while the Gallery Card will be sent to your Gallery tab. You can then view it under the Special Edition comics. Star Lord mains have another free costume to claim if they can complete a few more challenges. As for the Spring Fest special costume, you have 21 days from the time of writing this article.
