Recipe of Anvil in Minecraft
You will need the following items to create an anvil:
- 31 iron ingots
- Crafting table
Using the crafting table, insert 9 iron ingots at a time to create one iron block. Repeat this process two more times. At the end of it, you should have 3 iron blocks and 4 remaining iron ingots in your possession. All of these are required to make the anvil in Minecraft. So, the final recipe needs the following:
- 3 iron blocks
- 4 iron ingots
- Crafting table

How To Craft an Anvil?
With the ingredients at the ready, you can now proceed to craft the anvil. To do this, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Open the crafting table. You need a 3×3 grid for this to work.
- Add the three crafted iron blocks on the slots of the top row.
- Add one of your iron ingots in the center square of the middle row.
- Lastly, add the three remaining iron ingots in the slots of the bottom row.
Once the crafting is complete, you have to drag the created anvil into your inventory.
Uses of an Anvil in Minecraft
The following are some of the uses of an anvil:
- You can rename items using the anvil. Simply place the item in it and change the name in the text field.
- If you have an enchanted book, you can combine the book with a tool, armor, or weapon in the anvil to create an enchanted version of the item.
- The anvil also lets you repair damaged items. You can do this by placing two items of the same type in the anvil. Alternatively, combine the damaged item with its raw material to repair it within the anvil menu.
Another ingenious use of the anvil is to place it in the air above an enemy. Gravity will cause it to fall on the enemy and inflict damage. However, keep in mind that the anvil does not last forever. Every time you use the item, it has a 12% chance of getting damaged. Your anvil will break when it receives damage three separate times.
