This walkthrough guide will help players complete the Siege of Fan Castle mission from Chapter 3 of Dynasty Warrior Origins.
As the Wanderer accompanies the Wu faction, the Siege of Fan Castle mission comes with the main purpose of charging at Fan Castle and defeating Huang Zu, the enemy commander. Players need to advance to the main objective while keeping their allies and forces safe. To unlock this mission, talk to Sun Ce and Sun Quan, located in Jing Province.

Siege of Fan Castle Walkthrough
Victory and Defeat Conditions
The mission has a very straightforward victory condition: support the Wu faction and defeat Huang Zu, the enemy commander. However, the mission will fail if the player does not siege the castle in time, allies are defeated, or morale is lost. Stand strong and fend off the enemy forces to win.
Battle Preparations
There are a lot of weapons in Dynasty Warrior Origins, so players can pick whatever suits them. A weapon with AoE damage is recommended. Also, equip art skills that will help in clearing hordes of enemies quickly. Players can use the wellspring gem to restore health while defeating foes. On the other hand, they can use the ascendance gem, which can help block enemy attacks. Gnashing Fang, a podao-type weapon, is what we recommend for this mission. This two-handed weapon is a little slow but delivers devastating blows.

Battle Walkthrough
The battle starts, and the player needs to clear the northeast base first while lowering the enemy’s morale. March to the center of the map, destroy the archer tower, and meet the allied forces. Keep the companions safe and help them in battle against enemy officers. Players get two choices after clearing the center battlefield: either climb the ladder set by Sun Ce on the left side of the wall or charge open the main gate.
After entering the castle, keep defeating enemy forces to bring Huang Zu out. Huang Zu is equipped with Twin Pikes, so make sure to dodge his attacks. Additionally, this boss has dash attacks as one of his skills, which can be fatal for players. Defeat Huang Zu and his remaining forces to achieve victory in the Siege of Fan Castle mission of Dynasty Warrior Origins.
