Forgotten Altars is one of the latest additions in Diablo 4’s Season of Witchcraft. Learn how to find and use these Altars in the game.
Published by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo 4 — the fourth installment of the popular Diablo series — is an online action RPG where players fight monsters in dungeons. The Season of Witchcraft began on January 21, introducing some new mechanics, a new storyline, new powers, and much more.
The new update introduced witchcraft powers that unleash powerful attacks. The magic is learned through Altars, found beneath the Tree of Whispers. Players must collect Restless Rot and earn a seasonal reputation by completing the Whisper bounties to upgrade their magic powers. However, some lost or forgotten magic cannot be learned through regular Altars. To do so, the update has introduced Forgotten Altars, which are extremely rare.
In this guide, we will show the way to find these rare Forgotten Altars in Diablo 4.
How To Find Forgotten Altars
To find a Forgotten Altar, players must clear the dungeons and hope for one to spawn. Yes, it’s an RNG process, and these Altars are extremely rare. Players can use the Draught of Whispers elixir to increase their chances of encountering one.
Here are the chances of spawning based on the difficulty level:
- Torment I: 1% chance
- Torment II: 2% chance
- Torment III: 3% chance
- Torment IV: 5% chance
Uses of Forgotten Altars
To learn forgotten magic spells, players must use a Forgotten Altar. However, the process of learning or upgrading from these Altars is entirely RNG-based. Players may unlock a new lost witchcraft power, or receive an upgrade for the existing lost power. On the other hand, a Forgotten Altar only upgrades lost magic powers, not powers of some other categories.
