The series has been aired on Tokyo MX in Japan and will likely continue premiering on it. Global viewers can catch it on websites such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and HIDIVE.
While details confirming the studio and team are yet to be released, the teaser carries the same style as the previous seasons. This indicates that Studio Doga Kobo will continue animating the series. The group has risen to prominence recently with works such as Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian and Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun.
The Oshi no Ko anime also directly adapts from its manga, which finished publication on November 14, 2024. Created by Aka Akasaka (Love is War) and drawn by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish), the manga has 16 volumes containing 168 chapters.

Completely animating the longer Movie Arc will prove to be difficult if the season only has 13 episodes like Season 2. Hence, it may either get split into separate courses, end on a cliffhanger, or rush the storyline.
Oshi no Ko Season 3 will focus heavily on Ruby, a character who has been a ray of positivity and sunshine till this point. However, similarly impacted by her mother’s death, she takes on the role of an investigator now. By running a variety show, Ruby explores the industry while seeking clues regarding her father’s identity.
The season will dive deep into the dark history of the Hoshino family. It will force Aqua and Ruby to confront the shadows of their past lives while introducing the main antagonist, Hikaru Kamiki.
Oshi no Ko’s Controversial Ending and Expectations for the Anime
Oshi no Ko’s ending has been a source of heated debate among the fandom. While a minority enjoyed its bold approach, most have been outspoken about the haphazard conclusion. Fans expressed their views on how the revenge aspect of Oshi no Ko turned out to be its most underwhelming element.
Hikaru Kamiki, despite being built up as a big villain, hardly ever showed up till the final few chapters. His dynamic with Aqua also left much to be desired, with the protagonist sacrificing his own life to gain vengeance against his father.
While some were impressed by a story that killed its own protagonist to show off the stakes, others felt this was extremely forced. Following the making of the movie, Oshi no Ko’s storyline rushed to a conclusion. It dedicated very little time to developing any character apart from the main cast, ending the story with a move that was more “shock than substance.”
Nevertheless, fans still believe the potential of the story to be higher than ever. Similar to what Kubo is doing for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, they are hoping for Akasaka to work with the studio and make the necessary changes. By exploring morality, the cost of revenge, and fleshing out the plot more, the sky’s the ceiling for the Oshi no Ko anime.
