YouTuber James “MrBeast” Donaldson uploaded a new video titled I Spent 100 Hours Inside The Pyramids! On February 8, 2025. MrBeast and his crew explored a sarcophagus and the popular “Gateway to Hell.” The video was produced in Giza in Egypt at the Great Pyramids.

The YouTuber hid a piece of gold worth $10,000 inside the Sphinx for the first person who finds it. His tour guide shared some folk legends surrounding the Great Pyramids. Viewers can also find out about Egyptian gods and the pyramids’ architecture in the video.

The video gained over 25 million views in less than 12 hours. The video was produced in partnership with the Egypt Film Commission and Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The YouTuber also teased an upcoming video where two pilots will attempt to stay inside their planes for as long as possible. It is expected to be his next big project in 2025.

MrBeast’s Trip to the Great Pyramids in Egypt

In his newest video, MrBeast visited the largest Egyptian pyramid in the world. The location served as a tomb for Khufu, the pharaoh who ruled during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. The pyramid is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and has a World Heritage Status.

He recently appeared on Olympic champion Noah Lyle’s podcast and teased the Egypt video, saying:

“We got all three of the Pyramids of Egypt for 100 hours. I’m gonna do a video where they let me explore anywhere I want in the Pyramids.”

In the video, a tour guide walked the crew through all the hidden chambers, tombs, and other areas that are not open to the general public. The tour guide explained that the tomb of Khufu might be “fake.” Many archaeologists claim that there is a second tomb that serves as Khufu’s final resting spot. The YouTuber and his crew had 100 hours to find the hidden chamber and uncover all the pyramid’s secrets.

The YouTuber Visited the “Gate To Hell”

Ancient Egyptians believed in the netherworld, which is their version of hell. Everyone who dies passes on to the netherworld through one of the gates. MrBeast’s tour guide explained that various gates, doors, and pylons across Egypt allow people to head to “the other side.”

Egypt’s “Book of the Dead” mentions seven gates, one of which is located in the Great Pyramids. MrBeast’s tour guide showed him a pool of water that heads underground, and it is allegedly one of the gates. The YouTuber and his friend Karl headed into the water with safety equipment, but they didn’t dare navigate through the stagnant water due to safety concerns.

At the end of the video, the YouTuber hid a piece of gold worth $10,000 in a chamber. He didn’t mention where the prize is located, and his viewers have to head to the Great Pyramids to find the YouTuber’s reward.
