The first PlayStation State of Play event for 2025 has finally been announced. Surprisingly enough, the showcase is scheduled for February 12, 2025, at 2 PM Pacific Time (PT), i.e., tomorrow. Although Sony announced the schedule for the digital event, they did not reveal any details on which games players can expect to show up during the showcase. Furthermore, despite being a State of Play event, which often runs for roughly 15-20 minutes, the upcoming showcase is 40+ minutes long. This hints at PlayStation’s plans for major (first-party) game announcements and perhaps even some surprise reveals during the upcoming event.

Where To Watch PlayStation State of Play 2025?
The State of Play event will be streamed live on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. Furthermore, if you happen to miss out on the livestream, the showcase will be available to watch on PlayStation’s YouTube and X accounts. You can also watch the trailers and announcements on all official PlayStation social channels, i.e., X, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
What To Expect From the Upcoming PlayStation State of Play?
According to PlayStation, the showcase will only include PS5 games, which might hint at major first-party announcements. Furthermore, the event will be 40+ minutes long, which is roughly the same length as PlayStation’s Showcase events. PlayStation Showcase usually happens once every year, giving players a glimpse at new first-party games as well as PlayStation hardware that Sony plans to release in the following fiscal year. However, the upcoming event is titled a State of Play, despite its lengthy runtime.
As such, the event will likely feature quite a few major Triple-A announcements. PlayStation already has a few games announced for 2025 and beyond, including Marvel’s Wolverine, Ghost of Yotei, and Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet. There’s a very high likelihood of these games getting at least a gameplay or story trailer during the State of Play. Furthermore, there might also be some third-party and indie announcements as well.
