Popular streamer and FaZe Clan member Alexander “Adapt” recently shared his experience with drug abuse on FaZe Apex’s Fame and Fortune podcast. The streamer opened up about his experience with overdosing. He shared that while at the FaZe House in Miami, he suffered a seizure. The streamer stated that he used to be by himself in his room all the time. However, one day, he decided to join fellow clan members in the house theater. Alex suffered a seizure in the theater and was taken to the hospital by ex-FaZe Clan member Nikan. In the podcast, he stated:

“Nine times out of 10, I would have been by myself in my bedroom, my bedroom that’s completely isolated from the rest of the crib, and I would have had a seizure not around anyone. No one would have known, and that’s, like, a lot of times how people die. Like, people have died like that in the past, and people have died like that even with people around them, because they’ve had seizures, like, drug-induced seizures.”

FaZe Adapt is one of the oldest members of FaZe Clan. The streamer has over 609K followers on Twitch. His initial presence on YouTube boosted his popularity in the content creation industry. The 27-year-old boasts a huge following of 5.87M subscribers on YouTube. Longtime clan member FaZe Apex also recalled the incident and seemingly blamed it on a former member of the clan. Alex also remarked that “by the grace of God,” he was not by himself. Adapt stated that he was thankful for Nikan being there.

“By the grace of God I was not by myself. Nikan was there and I remember him telling me he held my head up or something and then they called an ambulance.”

FaZe Adapt Reflects on His Time in Rehab

Apex asked Adapt how life after rehab was and how it changed his perspective on how he viewed things. After experiencing a life-threatening seizure, Adapt answered that he went to rehab. Alex reflected on his time post-rehab, suggesting that it altered his perspective.

“I think about it as time goes by, and I’m like, wow, that was crazy. It definitely changed my view on a lot of things and affected me in a way.”

The streamer was then asked to give advice to people struggling with addiction. Apex also stated that the FaZe Clan member struggled with another addiction to nicotine. Alex stated that if people struggling with addiction don’t hold themselves accountable, they won’t stop until something extreme happens. Adapt also referenced his own seizure incident.

“What I would tell somebody, like, if you don’t realize you have a problem and you don’t think it’s a problem and you’re justifying it in your head, you’re not going to stop until something extreme happens, like you have a seizure and/or you almost die.”

The streamer further said:

“You can’t live your life like that forever. The way that ends is not good, nine times out of 10. And then, I don’t know… two, I would say, like, being open with it, talking to people, like holding yourself accountable. Like, what helped me with the nicotine one. The other one, I really didn’t have a choice.”

Adapt had released a documentary about his nicotine addiction and went in-depth about how it affects the body. He showed his process of overcoming his vaping addiction.
