Crafting is an important mechanic to get stronger items. This guide explains how to access the craft function in Avowed.
Avowed is an upcoming action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The game will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S on 18th February 2025. In this game, you play as an envoy of a king who has sent you to a land infested by a strange plague. Therefore, it is up to you and your allies to stop the plague and bring peace to the land.
Throughout the game, you can use multiple types of weapons and items. Your character is not locked to a certain role, hence you can switch builds anytime. However, you must craft powerful weapons to keep up with the enemies. The game has a very straightforward system for crafting items that players might find difficult to access initially. Therefore, this guide has explained everything you need to know about crafting in Avowed.
Accessing the Crafting Menu in Avowed
You cannot craft anything outright when you start the game. To gain access to the crafting menu, you first need to set up a party camp in the overworld. Moreover, to set up a party camp, you have to keep a lookout for giant blue crystal protrusions from the ground. These blue crystals with purple aura are called Adra waystones. Lastly, simply interact with them, and the game will automatically set up a camp around it for you. The camp has various amenities, but for now, we will focus on crafting.
To craft anything, first head to the workbench station. You can spot it easily with the anvil icon on top of it. However, when you first interact with it, the upgrade screen shows every piece of equipment and materials. To the left of the upgrade tab on top, you can see the crafting tab. Switch over, and you can see all the unlocked recipes and materials that you can craft currently.
Additionally, you can unlock recipes by simply progressing the game. Avowed rewards exploration, so try to find hidden chests and complete quests to unlock more recipes as you progress through the game. Use these recipes to craft more weapons and consumables that can aid your journey.

How Do You Obtain Materials to Craft
Finally, you need to have various types of materials if you want to craft anything you want. Moreover, the game features many methods through which you can craft such materials. Such methods are:
- Looting chests
- Completing quests
- Defeating enemies
- Crafting materials yourself
- Dismantling items
