Ezio was a very notorious man in the eyes of Templars, and it is a valid thought that they killed him. However, this assassin had a natural death at the age of 65. He retired at the end of Assassin’s Creed Revelations, saying that he has done his part.

The man married Sofia Sartor after retiring from being an assassin. Both had two children, Marcello and Flavia, and lived their lives peacefully. However, one fated day, Ezio encountered a robed figure who turned out to be a member of the Chinese Assassin’s Brotherhood. Shao Jun asked Ezio to help her in restoring her order. Ultimately he decided to help her, but as the story progressed, he realized that his family was not safe.

Time went by, and one fine day Sofia told Ezio to accompany Flavia and her to Florence. The old man got tired from shopping and decided to sit on a bench. There he encountered a young man who was complaining about females in Florence. Some people say that this man was sent by the Templars to eliminate the master assassin, but he was not. This young man reminded Ezio of his teenage years and how he used to be a carefree person. While listening to this man, Ezio had a heart attack and died as his wife and daughter looked at him.
