In this guide, we shall go over how to get the Mystery Bone in Monster Hunter Wilds, an essential material for the Bone Set.

Monster Hunter Wilds is all about hunting monsters and looking cool while doing so. The game places surprisingly deep emphasis on the latter, allowing you to craft several cool sets of armor that let you look like a badass monster hunter. The Bone Set is one of the coolest-looking armor sets in the game, made all out of bone, as its name suggests. This armor set consists of five pieces, all of which combine to give you the look of the Predator, as seen in Prey 2022.
As cool as the Bone Set is, it’s one that is fairly difficult to craft. You craft this armor set using Mystery Bones, a crafting material that is seemingly impossible to find. The Mystery Bone materials are scattered across the map and require you to explore and find them. If your exploration is reaping no results, we’re here to help. In this guide, we shall go over how to get the Mystery Bone in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Where To Find Mystery Bone?
As stated earlier, your best bet for finding the Mystery Bone is through exploring the map and searching for Bonepiles. Thankfully, these Bonepiles can be found as early as the Windward Plains region towards the start. Follow the steps below to find a Bonepile and get the Mystery Bone:
- Head to Windward Plains 7 and make your way to the southeastern end of this area, east of the Rockburst.
- Drop down the cliff and make your way towards the center of this area. Once you’re close to the center, keep following the path along the cliffs on the left until you see a cut leading above. Take the path, and you will reach a small crevice with Bonepiles and other Mining Outcrops. Loot the Bonepiles by pressing F on PC and Circle/B on consoles for a chance to get the Mystery Bone.
- Take note that the Bonepiles can drop a variety of bones, so explore and loot as many Bonepiles as you can across the Windward Plains. While Windward Plains 7 is just a general location we’ve mentioned, there are plenty of piles to be looted in these plains.

If the Bonepiles are bearing no fruit, we recommend taking on the Bulaqchi in the Windward Plains. This Neopteron monster is built like a bug and is hard to miss due to its bright shade of yellow. This little monster holds a small chance of dropping the Mystery Bone as well.
