Death Stranding 2 Pre-Order Guide: Date and All Bonus Content

Kojima Productions has finally revealed the official release date for Death Stranding 2 On the Beach. The reveal comes courtesy of the recently held Death Stranding event at SXSW, where Kojima and the game’s cast discussed new details about the upcoming title. Furthermore, Kojima Productions also released a brand-new trailer for the game, giving fans a better look at the gameplay as well as the sequel’s story.

The new trailer concluded with details on the game’s pre-order and editions. Much like the previous title, Death Stranding 2 is offered in multiple different editions, including a Collector’s Edition. However, this time around, there are a few cool surprises for fans who choose to pre-order.

Although PlayStation and Kojima Productions have revealed the pre-order details, the game’s store page isn’t going live until later this month. Here’s everything you need to know about Death Stranding 2’s pre-order, bonuses, and more.

When Can You Pre-Order Death Stranding 2?

Death Stranding 2 is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2025, exclusively for the PlayStation 5. Although the game is currently releasing as a PS5 exclusive, much like its predecessor, Death Stranding 2 On the Beach is expected to eventually arrive on PC at a later date.

The pre-orders for the game are going live on March 17, 2025, on the PlayStation Store as well as PlayStation Direct (in selected regions). The pre-order timing isn’t revealed. However, if previous PlayStation titles are any indication, Death Stranding 2’s pre-orders will probably go live at midnight local time on March 17, 2025. Do note that if there are any timing-related changes, we will update this article accordingly.

Death Stranding 2 Editions and Prices

Much like the original Death Stranding, the sequel is offered in Standard and Deluxe Edition formats. The Standard Edition is priced at $70 and comes with the base game as well as the pre-order bonuses. Whereas, the Deluxe Edition comes with a few additional in-game unlocks on top of the Standard Edition content. Furthermore, there’s also a Collector’s Edition which costs $230 and comes with everything included in the Deluxe Edition as well as physical goodies, including a 15” Magellan Man Statue, a 3” Dollman figurine, a letter from Hideo Kojima, art cards, and more. In addition to that, pre-ordering the Collector’s or Deluxe Editions of the game grants you 48-hour early access to the full game.

Should You Pre-Order Death Stranding 2?

Pre-ordering games are always subjective to a myriad of factors including but not limited to your emotional attachment to the game/franchise, financial situations, etc. As such, it’s hard to give a definitive answer to whether you should pre-order a game or not.

However, in the case of Death Stranding 2, if you’re already a fan of the first game and can’t wait to play the sequel, pre-ordering is a great way to secure a copy, granted you’re getting a physical version of the title. If you’re planning to get the game digitally via the PlayStation Store, it’s best to wait until the reviews for the game come out. You can still get the pre-order bonuses even if you pre-purchase the title just minutes before its release (early access).
