The main reason why Lazarus has been dominating recent anime discussions is the stellar team behind it. The series is being animated by Studio Mappa, which is arguably the most popular name in the industry today. It is also especially worth pointing out that Chad Stahelski, John Wick’s director, has been working on the anime as well. He has contributed as the action supervisor, which has already stood out from the trailer.

What Is the Lazarus Anime About?

Lazarus is set in the year 2052, in a utopian world transformed by a miraculous pain-relief drug called Hapna, created by Dr. Skinner. While humanity enjoys a peaceful and stable life, they soon fall into chaos when Skinner reveals that his drug has a disastrous side-effect where all its consumers would die within three years.

In order to stop the impending catastrophe, a special team called Lazarus is created. Featuring a variety of distinctive individuals with unique personalities, they work towards tracking Skinner down and discovering a vaccine to prevent global mass casualties.

Right from its early visuals, Lazarus seems geared to be an action-packed story with fluid animation and well-choreographed fights. Watching the fascinating cast of characters, led by the charming Axel, race against time to find Skinner is undoubtedly going to be an exciting experience.

Hence, while it is too soon to comment on the actual anime itself, the series has set itself up to be one of the most promising titles this year. As a result, we definitely recommend checking it out when it is released.

Conclusion

Lazarus, an intriguing upcoming sci-fi anime, has captured the attention of fans through its story and the team working on it. Scheduled to come out on April 5, 2025, there is good reason to look forward to this tale of action, thrill, and suspense.
