The Broken Road DLC will introduce a ton of new things in the PC version of the game, some of which are quality-of-life features. Here are some of the features that you’ll be able to enjoy once the DLC releases and you purchase it.

  • Permadeath game mode: If you want to increase the challenge the game offers, you can turn on the new Permadeath mode. As the name suggests, you’ll have to restart the campaign if you die in Permadeath. There are no checkpoints and no save game features in this mode. This is great for the true hardcore gamers who’ve already mastered all mechanics in Days Gone.
  • Speed run mode: In this mode, the challenge is to get through the story as soon as you can. You can then post your game completion times to compete with friends.
  • Horde Assault mode: In this game mode, you must survive against a never-ending stream of infected that attack you. The longer you survive, the greater the challenge. You’ll have to fight various types of enemies, including Freakers and survivors.
  • Accessibility features: This includes support for DualSense controllers, High Contrast Mode, and UI narration, to name a few.

Besides these, buying the DLC will also unlock a variety of in-game items early, such as the Drifter Crossbow, Shroud Upgrade #1, and more. The expansion also unlocks a brand-new enhanced version of Photo Mode, giving you even more customization options.
