The news regarding NetEase’s lawsuit has reached the Marvel Rivals community. Some players are confused about what the Chinese gaming studio has gotten into and how it can affect Marvel’s 6v6 hero shooter.   • NetEase also reportedly accused Crop Circle Games, a subsidiary of Prytania Media of fraud. They allegedly claimed that the studio was falsifying financial reports by transferring capital to other Prytania Media subsidiaries.
  • The lawsuit contends that NetEase allegedly leaked confidential information to the media regarding Possibility Space, another Prytania Media subsidiary.
  • Coming back to the alleged rumors mentioned by NetEase, investors were hesitant to carry forward their business with Prytania Media subsidiaries, harming their potential success.
  • The lawsuit also claims that NetEase attempted to avoid compliance with the US foreign investment laws. They did so by allegedly suggesting Prytania Media open branches in Canada or Ireland to facilitate investment.

NetEase has made it pretty clear that they are not giving in to the lawsuit. The studio behind Marvel Rivals has turned down the lawsuit’s claims and is looking to defend itself by law. NetEase issued a statement via Polygon and claimed that Annie and Jeff Strain’s allegations are “without merit”. They will also be defending themselves “vigorously”.

They have shown faith in the legal process and claim that their position as a global gaming company will help them fight the case better. Although the studio didn’t reveal much about how the future would appear if things didn’t go their way, it is sure that Marvel Rivals could be in jeopardy in that scenario.
