Discover the 5 best assassins in Assassin’s Creed games based on their personality and how iconic they are.

The Brotherhood of Assassins in Assassin’s Creed has many charming members, many of whom are very iconic and beloved by fans. These Assassins are loved based on their personality, their design, and overall the role they played in their respective stories.
So, we will rank the 5 best Assassins in Assassin’s Creed as a whole. Additionally, we will be basing them on how iconic, memorable, and well-written they are.
1. Edward Kenway

Appearing in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Edward Kenway is a charismatic man who wanted to be a pirate, simply for the riches and glory. He showed reluctance to be an official member of the Brotherhood, choosing life on the sea instead. However, as the game progresses, Edward realizes what matters more in the grand scheme of things and ultimately chooses to become an Assassin to fight against the Templars.
2. Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Arguably the most iconic assassin of all time, Ezio first made his appearance as a pampered rich kid in Assassin’s Creed 2. Life is good for Ezio until his father and brothers are executed for conspiring against the Templar order. This sets Ezio on a path of vengeance against the order, and for this purpose he becomes an Assassin.
Ezio grows as a character a lot throughout Assassin’s Creed 2 and its various sequels, making him the most fleshed-out character Ubisoft has released.
3. Altair Ibn LaAhad

Introduced in the original Assassin’s Creed, Altair is the first-ever Assassin we get to play as. He is cold, calculated, and efficient as a member of the Brotherhood. While he is not very charming, he is certainly memorable as he is the protagonist of the game that started it all. Additionally, he also grew as a character and stood up against his master, Al Mualim, who betrayed the Brotherhood.
4. Bayek

Introduced in Assassin’s Creed Origins, Bayek of Siwa was the founder of what eventually became the Brotherhood of Assassins. After the murder of his son at the hands of The Order of Ancients, Bayek swears vengeance against them and sets off to kill them. Bayek is a kind-hearted and noble man, often helping those in need. As The Order of Ancients eventually evolved into the Templars later on, Bayek’s actions created a rivalry that lasted throughout generations.
5. Shay Patrick Cormac

Introduced in AC Rogue, Shay Patrick Cormac was a member of the Assassins who defected after a mission gone wrong. He was tasked with retrieving an Apple of Eden that led to the collapse of Lisbon, leading to the loss of many lives. Shay was distraught at this; after seeing how the Brotherhood was mostly indifferent to the deaths, he defected to the Templars. Shay offers a unique perspective to the Assassin vs Templar conflict, making him very memorable.
And there you have it, these are the 5 best Assassins in the Assassin’s Creed series. These characters are still well-loved and admired to this day by fans of the series. Many fans lament the fact that Ubisoft will never be able to create characters as iconic as those in the Assassin’s Creed series, further adding to their legacy.
