YouTube streamer Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. revealed that he is setting up a collaboration stream with actor Jackie Chan. The streamer announced the collab during his first livestream in China on March 23, 2025. One of his viewers asked him if he would be willing to do a stream with Jackie Chan, and Speed responded, saying that a stream with Chan was already “in the works.”

Jackie Chan is one of the best-known actors in Asia. He started his career as a martial artist and stuntman before becoming a global star. After working in the Hong Kong movie industry in the 1970s, his popularity earned him a spot in Hollywood. The actor has become a controversial figure in recent years for his support of the Chinese government, but he remains a beloved actor for many.

IShowSpeed’s China tour is one of his most successful travel series so far. The streamer got over 9 million total views in less than 24 hours on his first stream on YouTube. The livestreams are averaging over 100,000 concurrent viewers on YouTube despite the website being banned. He also started a Douyin account to livestream to Chinese fans.

IShowSpeed’s Team Is Setting Up a Collab With Jackie Chan

A viewer asked about a potential collab with Jackie Chan during IShowSpeed’s livestream from China on March 23, 2025. Speed responded to the viewer:

“Speed wanna meet Jackie Chan? That’s in the works, y’all. Me and Jackie Chan is in the works. I gotta meet the…chat, Jackie Chan is like the king of China.”

Jackie Chan is famous in China because a lot of his movies focus on patriotism and have ties to the Chinese government. He has a pro-China stance and supported the country amidst the Hong Kong riots in 2019. The actor was also the official Cultural Ambassador for the country and helped introduce Chinese culture to global media through movies like Rush Hour (1998) and Shanghai Noon (2000).

Speed Received Special Permission to Livestream on YouTube

When IShowSpeed first announced his travel series in China, many of his fans were concerned about censorship. YouTube is banned in China due to the “Great Firewall” censorship program in most of the country. Despite the ban, Speed’s team received permission to livestream on YouTube without any restrictions.

IShowSpeed is trying to tap into a Chinese audience through his content and grow his audience. The streamer has an official Douyin account, which is the Chinese version of TikTok. The streamer posted his first video on the account and said:

“Ni hao (Hello) Douyin, it’s Speed. It’s me, this is my official account. Love y’all. Stay tuned to my videos, stay tuned for more, this is the first video. I love y’all, stay tuned.”

Fans can tune into IShowSpeed’s streams in China every day at 12 PM Pacific Time (PT). The streamer plans to host livestreams in the country for multiple weeks before moving to Mongolia for his next series.
