This Nintendo Direct took place just days before the hyped Nintendo Switch 2 Direct set for April 2. Fan expectations were running wild with speculation, with games like Hollow Knight Silksong and Deltarune being highly anticipated in the Nintendo Direct live stream. Although these games were not announced, we still got a lot of big names to watch out for.

1) Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake)

The acclaimed Dragon Quest series kicked off the presentation by showcasing the remakes of the first and second parts. However, we did not get a concrete release date for it yet. However, we do know that the game is set to be released sometime in the present year.

Dragon Quest has a massive following in Japan (and outside it as well), so this was a great way to kick off the Direct.

2) Pokemon Legends Z-A

Arguably, Nintendo’s biggest game of the year also showed some new details. It revealed information about the gameplay in Legends, which will involve a day and night system, with both having a varied way of playing out.

The biggest takeaway from this was the Z-A Royale tournament. Here, you will be thrown into a chaotic frenzy against various other trainers to climb up the rankings from Z to A. Although we did not get any new mega evolution reveals, fans can be excited for any new information about this game.

3) Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The next chapter in the story of Samus Aran also revealed some new details. This game will see Samus receive new psychic abilities, which can be used for traversal and offensive purposes. Additionally, the new video also saw Samus in a new suit, which is sure to generate more excitement.

Unfortunately, a concrete release date is not here. All we know is that the game will be released sometime this year.

4) Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army

ATLUS is back with a remaster of one of their old releases. Following a 20-year wait, the results have been rewarding. The video revealed updated graphics and voice-overs so both new and old fans can jump into this game.

Additionally, this game did give us a proper release date of June 19, 2025. It will be released on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, the Nintendo Switch, and Steam as well.

5) Monument Valley 1, 2, and 3

The first and second Monument Valley games are being ported to the Nintendo Switch. They will be available to the public on April 15, 2025. Meanwhile, the latest game in the series will be ported sometime in Summer 2025, so we do not have a concrete release date for this yet.

These were some of the biggest announcements that were made at the March 2025 Nintendo Direct. Lastly, they also announced a new app for smart devices termed ‘Nintendo Today!‘ which can be used to get ‘direct’ updates about the game. This app will be available for download on Google Play and the App Store.
