How To Get Teddiursa in Pokemon GO
Wild Encounters
Teddiursa appears naturally in the wild. Since it is a Normal-type Pokemon, its spawn rate increases during Partly Cloudy weather. A wild Teddiursa can have a maximum CP of 1,138 under normal conditions, but this rises to 1,233 CP when weather-boosted.
Eggs
In the past, Teddiursa was available in 2 km Eggs during its Community Day event. However, it has not been included in Egg pools since then. If it returns to Eggs in the future, it will likely be through a special event.
Raid Battles
Teddiursa is a 1-star raid boss with a CP of 3,996. It is easy to defeat with a well-powered Fighting-type counter. The CP range for a caught Teddiursa from raids varies based on weather conditions:
- Without weather boost: 707 – 759 CP (Level 20, IVs from 10/10/10 to 15/15/15)
- With Partly Cloudy boost: 884 – 949 CP (Level 25, IVs from 10/10/10 to 15/15/15)
Research Tasks
Certain events, like the Fuzzy Buddy Research Day, improve your chances of encountering Teddiursa. You can find it in both Field Research tasks and the event’s paid Timed Research. When obtained from research, its CP falls within the range of 530 – 569 (Level 20, IVs from 10/10/10 to 15/15/15).
GO Battle League Encounters
You also might get a chance to earn Teddiursa as a reward encounter in the GO Battle League. It was available as a third-win reward during Season 22 and previously in Season 21. Checking current Battle League rewards may help in securing another encounter.

Can Teddiursa Be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Yes, Teddiursa’s shiny form is available in Pokemon GO. Under normal conditions, the odds of finding a shiny Teddiursa are about 1-in-512. However, event-specific boosts can significantly improve these odds:
- Community Days: 1-in-25
- Research Days: 1-in-10
Evolution Considerations
Teddiursa evolves into Ursaring, which can be useful in PvP, particularly in its Shadow form. It can further evolve into Ursaluna, but this requires a unique condition—it must be evolved on the night of a full moon. This limitation makes planning for an Ursaluna crucial.
