In Blue Prince, you play as Simon, who inherits a large mansion named the Mt. Holly Manor from a distant relative. In your quest to find the 46th room in this huge house, you’ll come across a variety of puzzles to solve and new rooms to draft. However, every doorway you cross will count down the number of footsteps you have remaining for that day. When that counter reaches zero, another day will pass in the game.
So, while you always know how many days have passed since Simon came into the manor, you’ll not know the exact date or time while playing. However, there’s a secret way of finding out both of those things. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can discover the date and time in Blue Prince.
How To Know the Date in Blue Prince
In your quest to find the date and time in Blue Prince, the following is the process you need to follow to know what date it is.
- Step 1: Draft the Security Room.
- Step 2: Find the Terminal Password to log into the computer inside the Security Room.
- Step 3: Click on Staff Services on the computer.
- Step 4: Next, click on Staff Announcement.
Inside this option, you’ll discover a note from a staff member at the Mt. Holly estate, wishing Simon the very best in his endeavor of finding room number 46. This note is dated November 7. Since that’s also the day Simon entered the estate for the first time, you can easily calculate what day it is. Simply add the number of days you’ve spent inside the manor to November 7, and then subtract one (since Nov 7 was also Day One).
Here’s an example to make it clearer. Suppose you find the note on your 9th day in the manor. So, the current date would be 7+9-1, which equals 15. So, the current date would be November 15.

How To Know the Time in Blue Prince
Finding out what time it is in-game is much simpler than knowing the date. You can either draft a room that has a clock inside, or you can go out of the Mt. Holly Manor to check the clock tower there. To do this, simply walk outside and reach the base of the main staircase. Turn around, and you should be able to spot the clock tower there.
Alternatively, draft rooms such as the Mail Room, the Study, the Office, etc., to get a room that has a clock inside. So, you can check the time from here without needing to go outside every single time. Most bedrooms you draft will also contain clocks in them.
Each day in the game begins at 8 a.m. Every five minutes in real life advances the in-game time by an hour.
