Here’s a guide to help you join the Marathon Closed Alpha Test, including how to get the link and register using it.
Marathon is Bungie’s new PvP extraction shooter that is scheduled to release on September 23, 2025. This new game lets you play as a Runner, beings who have given up on humanity for combat powers. Your job will be to scavenge around colonies of an alien planet to get loot and get out. If you cannot wait to play the game, there is a Closed Alpha Test that you can get into, which will allow you to play the game earlier.
But how do you get access to the Marathon Closed Alpha Test? Here’s a guide to help you out.
How To Join the Marathon Closed Alpha Test?
If you want to join the Marathon Closed Alpha Test, you can only do so through their official Discord server. Firstly, you need to have Discord on your device, which you can easily obtain from their website. Visit Discord’s official site and click on the Download button at the top of the homepage. Then, scroll down to find your device and download the application. Here’s the link to join Marathon’s official server.
When you open the link, Discord will prompt you to open the app on your device or in your browser to join the server. Click OK, and you will soon be connected. After joining, be aware of some pop-ups. The first pop-up will ask if you’d like to join the Closed Alpha Test. Click Yes to gain access to a dedicated channel for that.
Scroll down in the server to find the alpha_test channel at the bottom. Click on the text input bar, type in /alpha, and hit Enter. This will prompt a bot to reply with a link and two requirements. The requirements are:
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must currently reside in the United States or Canada.
If you meet both requirements, click the link provided in the same message. It will take you to another page where you can sign up for the Marathon Closed Alpha Test.
Registration for Marathon Closed Alpha Test
Once you open the link provided to you on Discord, you will see three options to choose from. You can select your account on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, or Steam. Ensure you select the account you wish to use, as this decision is irreversible.
After selecting your account, you will need to complete a short survey, which will then direct you to the final page for registering for the Closed Alpha Test of Marathon.
