Marvel Rivals has added a brand new feature to let players customize some skins from select heroes. Here’s a quick guide.

Marvel Rivals is adding a skin customization feature to enhance the cosmetics in the game. The latest hero shooter by NetEase Games was already delivering by putting out interesting costumes for both casual and long-term Marvel fans. But now, they have tried taking it up a notch by adding “color customization” to the mix as a patch, six days after the release of Season 2.0.
Unfortunately, players don’t have full freedom to customize all the costumes. There is only one extra color theme added for select costumes at the time of writing. Refer to the image of Winter Soldier above: the Costume Color (in the bottom right section of the screen) on the left is the original color, while the one on the right is the recolor allowed via skin customization.
Moreover, only a few costumes have access to this new feature. When you visit the in-game Store and go to the Costumes section, you will spot certain costumes like the Blood Soldier or Mirae 2099 costumes with a “color palette” icon on the bottom right corner of their costume display. Only these costumes will have a customization alternative.
How To Customize a Skin in Marvel Rivals

Once you have made sure which skin you wish to customize, you must ensure that you have already bought that costume. Kindly note that you cannot directly buy a reskin customization of a costume. Moreover, if you wish to gift a costume, you can only gift the regular variant, and the recipient has to buy the customized color for that skin separately. Once you own a costume that allows customization, follow the steps below:
- Visit the Hero Profile for that specific character and head to the Cosmetics section.
- Select the owned skin available for customization in Marvel Rivals, and you will see an option on the bottom right that says “Customize.”
- Click on it. It will redirect you to a new page. The price for each customization is 600 Unstable Molecules. As of now, these can only be bought using Lattice (on the same screen where you are purchasing a new costume color). However, the developers may introduce a new way to acquire this currency later on.
- Once you have made the purchase, you can equip this new customized skin.
