In a survival game such as RuneScape Dragonwilds, you are bound to die often. There are countless hazards along your journey, ranging from the lowliest enemies to environmental dangers. Death lurks around every corner in the game world. But death isn’t all that punishing in the game. You can still recover all of the items you had on you when you fell. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can go about recovering inventory after death in RuneScape Dragonwilds.

Every time you die, you lose all of your items, including any loot, crafting materials, gear, or weapons. You will start off wearing only the basic tunic and shirt. After you respawn, open up the game map and you should see a red skull and bone icon appear on the map. This marks the spot where you died last. To reclaim your lost inventory, all you have to do is reach that location and interact with your gravestone. It will appear as a stone with yellowish rays emanating from it.

While this sounds like a simple thing to do, remember that enemies also respawn when you do. So, even though you might have mostly cleared out the portion of the map where you fell, the enemies will return there after your death. And since you don’t possess any weapons or armor, fighting these foes can be a bit of an issue. If you’re playing in co-op, we’d suggest sending your friend—who still has all their items—to retrieve your lost gear. They stand a much better chance of fighting off the enemies than you do.

If you’re playing solo, you should properly arm yourself with weapons and armor before returning to the area. Also, carry food items to recover any health that you lose during this perilous journey.

Once you get to your gravestone, you’ll need to have enough inventory space free to reclaim all of the items. So, drop any items you collected on your way to the gravestone to make the necessary space.
