If there is one thing most role-playing games have in common, it’s stats. Within The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, these stats are termed as Attributes. They determine everything about your character, ranging from your health to stamina.

Here is a complete guide explaining the attribute system and the various attributes present in Oblivion Remastered.

You can access this menu through the character page. The second tab on this page will be the Attributes menu. Here, you will be able to see a total of eight Attributes, ranging from the generic strength and intelligence to willpower and personality. Every time you level up, you will be given 12 points to distribute among these Attributes.

(Note: You can only distribute these points among a maximum of three attributes at one time.)

Every stat will be useful for some activity or the other. You should prioritize Attributes based on the type of build you are going for.

Strength

One of the most basic skills, found in any game. Strength is quite a straightforward stat, which increases your damage dealt while using heavy melee weapons like greatswords, claymores, axes, warhammers, and, naturally, your bare hands.

Moreover, raising this stat will increase your carrying capacity, while simultaneously improving your health by a small bit.

Intelligence

Where Strength will be the main stat for a physical build, Intelligence will be the go-to for a magic build. This attribute raises the maximum Magicka limit of your character.

This increased limit will not only allow you to cast more spells, but also let you cast more powerful spells, which have a higher Magicka cost.

Willpower

Willpower will be relevant for two things simultaneously. It is an extremely important stat for both physical and magic users. This is because Willpower will decide your Magicka regeneration, while also increasing your Fatigue limit.

Increased Magicka regeneration will be helpful in casting spells in quick succession, while also allowing for more attacks to be performed before getting fatigued.

Agility

Where Willpower grants you increased Magicka regeneration, Agility does the opposite and increases your Fatigue regeneration. It also increases your Fatigue limit, but not as much as Willpower does.

Lastly, another reason for increasing your Agility would be to increase your damage while using daggers, shortswords, or bows.

Speed

Perhaps one of the most straightforward attributes in the game. Speed will increase any and all of your movement speeds. Want to run faster? Level up Speed. Want to walk faster? Level up Speed.

Speed is not just limited to ground-based movement. Your swim speed is also increased with this stat.

Endurance

Perhaps one of the most useful stats in terms of survivability, Endurance raises your maximum health pool. This makes this stat useful not only in combat, but outside it as well, since you will be able to survive greater wounds from environmental hazards.

It also increases the regeneration rate of your character. If you feel that you are dying easily, or often, Endurance is the stat to raise.

Personality

This is the most useful stat when you want to influence your dialogue choices. Personality will open doors for you that other stats cannot. This attribute raises your likeability among NPCs.

You will be able to get them to divulge their secrets more easily, and also be able to get better bargains, all for having a good personality.

Luck

Some would say that ‘luck is a part of skill’ and in Oblivion, it’s no different. Luck’s in-game description describes it as something that affects all other stats in the game. So, you should be investing in Luck whenever possible.

If the system remains unchanged from the original game, then Luck will be manipulating a hidden modifier that will affect all your stats. It was generally advised to keep your luck above 50.
