As you progress in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you come across a Gestral named Noco. He tells you the location of his village and disappears. After fighting some bosses and mobs, you finally reach the village. The main purpose is to get some help for crossing the sea. There you meet the village chief Golgra, a fierce warrior.
Eventually, you get some piece of information and a chance to duel with Golgra. However, the fight is not a piece of cake, as she has health in the millions, so you better level up. This fight is recommended for late-game players, and here’s a guide for you.

How To Defeat Golgra in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
First things first, Golgra has no elemental weakness as well as no resistance. That means you can go all out. Secondly, as it is a duel, you cannot bring more than one character to fight her. And lastly, she has a lot of health and can one-hit low-level characters. Don’t worry, you can challenge her anytime, so level up and come back again.
We recommend getting the Painted Power Pictus to remove the damage cap of 9,999. This item can be acquired by defeating the Paintress herself. Equip other damage-boosting luminas to get an advantage. Here are some luminas you can equip:
- Roulette
- Cheater
- First Strike
- Augmented First Strike
- Glass Cannon
- Empowering Parry
- Augmented Counter

Golgra Duel Walkthrough
Unlike other Gestrals, Golgra solely relies on her flexible body to deal pure physical damage. Here are some of the Golgra attacks:
- Fast combo: Golgra uses her flexibility to drop a three-hit combo. This combo is easy to dodge and parry. Additionally, once you get her health below 50%, she will buff herself and unleash the same combo with a slight delay and an extra hit.
- Golgra shakes Earth:An attack that requires you to jump. Otherwise, there will be consequences. As soon as you get the indicator, jump and counter. But you must get ready because she will hit you with a gradient attack just after the jump attack.
- Long combo: This is a six-hit combo, and she delays the attacks in between, so you’ll have to memorize the pattern.

Even if you are a high-level player, she can kill you instantly if you are not careful enough. We recommend going for a full offensive build because defensive passives cannot do much against her.
