Everything you need to know about Troubadour’s quest in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, including the location, requirements, rewards, and more.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is chock-full of some genuinely memorable optional quests that not only bring some levity to the game’s weary atmosphere but also increase your understanding of the Continent’s history and its people. One such optional quest involves the Nevron named Troubadour. While most quests involving Nevron usually end up with you having to fight a boss or a group of enemies, this quest is quite different.
Instead of fighting anything (or anyone), Troubadour’s quest requires you to test out your parry skills. Although the quest is quite memorable, its mechanics aren’t explained all that well by the game, which can lead to some players getting a bit confused.
While the game does inform you about the parry-focused mini-game, it doesn’t tell you the pass/fail criteria for it. To help you with that, here’s a comprehensive guide on Troubadour’s quest in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
How To Start Troubadour’s Quest in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Troubadour’s quest can be completed after you’ve united with Verso and completed the main story segment in the Forgotten Battlefield. Troubadour is located in the Stone Quarry. Once you head inside the Stone Quarry, you will find a pile of dead Nevrons lining the entire area close to the entrance. You will find Troubadour standing close to the dead Nevrons and an area that looks a lot like an abandoned arena.
Once you locate Troubadour, talk to him. Doing so will reveal the Nevrons’ backstory. Essentially, Troubadour wanted to play his musical instrument for his Nevron friends. However, in doing so, he eventually ended up killing them. This both saddened and confused Troubadour as he did not intend to harm anyone.
And thus, he requests Verso to teach him how he can safely play his musical instrument (which looks a lot like a Trumpet), without harming anyone. If you accept the quest, you will be teleported to the arena and given control of Verso.
How To Complete Troubadour’s Quest

The primary objective of Troubadour’s quest is to parry incoming attacks. As Troubadour plays his instrument, he will release two types of orbs (identified by different colors). The green orbs are safe, and you don’t have to parry those. The orange orbs, on the other hand, are the ones that you need to parry. There are three rounds of this mini-game, with the speed of Troubadour’s playing increasing with each round.
Once you complete all three rounds, you get to conclude the quest. However, in order to do so, you need to complete all three rounds flawlessly. Thankfully, parrying attacks with Verso is quite easy, as long as you know the basics of the mechanic.
Once you complete the mini-game, you can simply talk to Troubadour to conclude the quest. Completing Troubadour’s quest will reward you with 7875 XP and a Healing Parry (Level 8) Pictos. If you already have a Healing Parry Picto in your inventory, it will be upgraded to Level 10 instead.
