Clair Obscur Expedition 33 hooks you in instantly with its premise. The Paintress is bringing upon human extinction, and now all those of age 33 will be wiped out. To stop this madness, a group of expeditioners set out on an expedition, and quickly learn of the horrors that reside outside.
Alien-like monsters roam these lands, all looking to kill you and end your quest. Sprong is one such monster and boss you find on the expedition. This peculiar creature has no clear body and can only be described as a structure of floating rocks. This uncanny look instills fear and is only matched by the boss’ mechanical prowess.
Sprong is powerful and hits hard, using a plethora of attacks to crush you, making it one of the harder bosses in the game. Sprong’s movements are also erratic, making him a difficult one to read, only exacerbating the frustrations.

How To Beat Sprong in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Found just southwest of the Blades’ Graveyard in the Continent region, Sprong is one of the tougher bosses in the game. Sprong mixes in projectile-based attacks with ground smashes to keep you guessing. The ground smash, especially, deals a chunk of damage and you must dodge or parry it at any cost.
Since the attack is a bit tough to read, we recommend waiting for the whoosh sound that comes with it. Parry as soon as you hear the sound to successfully deflect the attack.
The next attack you need to watch for is its projectile attack. The boss charges up a projectile wave with its mouth, blasting you with it. This wave charges up very quickly, once again giving you very little time to read it and parry. We recommend listening for the whoosh sound and parrying at the right moment to deflect the attack.
The bright purple colors of the attack are just a distraction, and you’ll have an easier time parrying this boss if you focus on the audio cues. Parry and counterattack this boss to chip away at the HP and defeat Sprong.
