Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has tons of bosses, each with their own fighting styles, combos, abilities, and attack patterns. The game demands that you study each enemy thoroughly and approach each fight differently. Preparation is key for each fight, and the same holds true for the Seething Boucheclier.
The Seething Boucheclier is one of the harder bosses in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. The boss fight presents you with a trio of enemies – the Seething Boucheclier, the Chapelier, and the Moissoneuse, each with unique moves and individual vulnerabilities. Taking on this boss fight means preparing for all three enemies separately, which can be a daunting task. To make matters worse, the boss has a study shield and frequently uses uber-powerful gradient attacks that can one-shot you if you’re not careful.

You find the Seething Boucheclier boss fight in the Anger Vale area of the Visages region in the game. Head into the Anger Vale and talk to the large mask to begin the fight. As the fight kicks off, the first thing you’ll notice are the four shields on the boss. Use Maelle’s Breaking Rules ability to discard the shields.
Next, you want to take out the two minions accompanying the boss, especially before the boss enters the counterattack state. The mask in the background frequently grants the Seething Boucheclier an extra turn, which it uses to enter the counterattack state. The boss may use this state to counter your attacks against the minions, so dispose of them as early as you can.
Once all your focus is on the boss, you want to exploit its weakness to Fire and Dark. You also have to keep tabs on its attacks and parry them. The boss has a standard sword combo, where it slashes at you thrice. This is predictable and easy to parry, but failure to parry will grant the boss extra shields. The other attack is its Gradient Attack, where it jumps and smashes into you. This attack can one-shot you, so it is a must to parry. Parry and counterattack to deal damage and destroy the boss.
