Allies for Bruma is an optional side quest that you can complete after ‘Bruma Gate’ and before ‘Defense of Bruma’ main story quest. As Bruma faces the threat of new Oblivion Gates, Jauffre realizes that the Daedric forces are numerous, while the city’s guards are few. He asks you to request aid from the towns of Cyrodiil for the impending battle.

This guide will outline which cities to request aid from, how to convince them, and what their support means in the coming battle.

Allies for Bruma begins with the conclusion of Bruma Gate. Jauffre asks you to petition the other cities of Cyrodiil, the guilds, and the Elder Council to send allies to help close any Oblivion Gates that open around the town. You must visit the different cities that are marked by quest markers on your map and ask for assistance from their count or countess.

Here are all the characters and locations you can visit to get help, and the soldiers they offer:

How To Convince Leaders to Send Aid

Each leader is located within their city’s respective castle. Speak with them and choose the “Aid for Bruma” dialogue option. They will ask you to close the Oblivion Gates threatening their city, in return for lending aid to Bruma. Go to the Oblivion Gate marked on the map, enter it, and activate the Sigil Stone in the main tower to close it. Then, speak with the Count or Countess, and they will gladly send out troops to bolster Bruma’s defence.

In Kvatch, you must first finish the Battle of Castle Kvatch. You may only ask Savlian Matius for aid after that. Despite the city’s destruction, Matius will send a soldier from the town. If you head to the Imperial City and talk to High Chancellor Ocato, he will refuse to send assistance as the Imperial legions are occupied fighting off Daedric invasions in the provinces. Although Jauffre mentions requesting the guilds for help, there is no way to do so.

Completing the Allies for Bruma Quest in Oblivion Remastered

You can conclude Allies for Bruma at any point by speaking to Martin at the Cloud Ruler Temple and beginning Defense of Bruma. Once Defense of Bruma is finished, Allies for Bruma will also be marked as completed. If you have already completed the Battle of Castle Kvatch quest or closed any of the Oblivion Gates around the towns already, be sure to visit their respective leaders to receive immediate support. If you complete the side quest, having around 10 extra soldiers will significantly bolster your ranks in the Defense of Bruma quest.
