Stellar Blade, the critically acclaimed action-adventure game from Shift Up, is soon making its way to PC. While the game’s PC port was announced back during The Game Awards 2024, it’s only recently gotten an official release date. Originally released as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Stellar Blade caught the world by storm with its presentation, combat system, and boss fights. The game is heavily inspired by titles like Nier and Drakengard, with the narrative featuring obvious parallels to Nier: Automata.

However, despite the similarities to Nier, Stellar Blade carved its own identity with a more refined combat system, excellent boss fights, and RPG mechanics that offer a ton of replayability.

With the recent announcement of the PC release date, Shift Up also revealed details on other key aspects of the port, including system specifications. Here’s everything you need to know about Stellar Blade PC’s system requirements, file size, and more.

Despite featuring better visuals (texture quality) compared to PS5, the PC version of Stellar Blade isn’t particularly demanding. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the game’s built using Unreal Engine 4. Much like any other UE4 title, Stellar Blade is mostly GPU-dependent and should work perfectly fine on any mid-range modern CPU.

In terms of VRAM, the game should work perfectly fine as long as you have at least 6 GB of video memory. For 1440p and 4K, it’s recommended to have 10 GB of VRAM. However, you can easily play the game at higher resolutions with 8 GB of VRAM. In terms of upscaling, the game comes with both DLSS 4 and FSR 3 support.

That said, here are the official PC system requirements for Stellar Blade:

According to the official system specifications, Stellar Blade requires roughly 75 GB of storage. Furthermore, Shift Up recommends installing the game on an SSD, which is par for the course with most modern releases. Surprisingly enough, the PC port’s file size is more than double that of the game’s PS5 version.

However, there’s a clear explanation for that. The PC version comes with a dedicated 4K Texture Pack, which is roughly the size of the entire base game. That’s the reason for the game’s bloated file size on PC. The Texture Pack essentially enables higher resolution textures, at the cost of increased storage and VRAM requirements.

However, it’s likely that the Texture Pack will be an optional download, which should help offset the game’s massive file size.
